H2 Treated Framing Materials

We supply H2 treated framing materials in most standard sizes from Carter Holt Harvey, AKD Softwoods, BassPine, Hyne Timber to name but a few.

H2 treated or Blue Pine framing is structural pine framing which has been specially treated to protect against termite attack and damage and it comes with a 25 year guarantee for peace of mind.

It is suitable for residential house and light commercial applications such as wall frames and roof trusses and ensures your framing solution is termite resistant as well as cost-effective.. It is for inside/interior, above-ground framing applications only.

It protects against all termites except the more ferocious Mastotermes darwiniensis found north of the tropic of capricorn, therefore is suitable for use South of the Tropic of Capricorn only.

It's made from seasoned, dressed, machine-graded plantation radiata pine, and you can identify Blue Pine by its blue dye and labelling.

Applications

TERMINATOR Blue is suitable for wall frames, roof trusses and any other load bearing application where termite protection is required.

Commercial & residential

It is suitable for both residential and commercial construction in accordance with AS 3660.1 and AS 1604.1

Compatibility with other treated timbers

It can be used with other treated timbers including CCA and LOSP treated framing.

Resealing

Cut ends of do not need to be resealed for the treatment to remain effective; however it is recommended as good building practice. Resealing is required for re-planning of studs, notching of bottom plate for fixing of bath tub or shower recess.

Environmental certification

As with untreated timber all blue framing material is manufactured from 100% Australian plantation pine. Timber is sourced from Australian Forestry Standard and FSC certified forests.

Exposure to elements

It has high UV light and heat stability so its treatment retains its efficacy throughout normal construction periods.

Fire rating

Blue framing has the same allowable uses under the BCA with regard to fire rating as untreated timber.

Fixings and fasteners

The H2F tratment is non corrosive to fixings, so no special fixings are required.

Safety

Material should be handled with the same safety precautions as untreated timber. Gloves should be worn and eyes, nose and throat should be protected from wood dust.

Treatment

Blue framing material is treated to an H2F level making it suitable for internal applications, above ground. It is approved for use in all areas of Australia below the Tropic of Capricorn. The Blue framing is treated with Bifenthrin or Permethrin (synthetic pyrethroids). This organic insecticide is used in common household applications such as head lice shampoo's, citronella torch and lamp oils and fly spray.

Identification

The structural grade is printed on every stick of Blue framing timber at 1.2m intervals.

Blue framing timber is coloured using a strong blue dye for ease of identification and each stick will be branded with its treatment level, either with an inkjet stamp along the face of the board or with an end tag.

Moisture content

Seasoned, kilned dried. Moisture content meets AS 1748 requirements. 

Structural grading

It is available in a variety of structural grades including MGP10, MGP12, MGP15 and F5.

Waste disposal

Off-cuts are not classed as hazardous material and can be disposed of as normal landfill waste. Never burn treated timbers.

Blue framing is guaranteed to resist termite attack for 25-years.
